Created in collaboration with mentor teacher during student teaching. Students will create a self-portrait that depicts themself in a way that is free from conventional expectations. Leaning into the unusual by using distorted grids, oil pastel layering, and color theory skills. Students explore the role of portraits throughout art history and are encouraged to celebrate themselves.
