I am a visual arts teacher at George Westinghouse College Prep in East Garfield Park. 
I have been teaching since August 2022. I created and implemented a new curriculum for Art 1 and teach it across 5 sections of 150+ students yearly. Below are some selected images from various projects (student made artwork). 

The curriculum covers a wide range of materials including but not limited to: oil pastel, acrylic paint, sculpture materials, ceramics, zines, watercolors, and perspective drawings. 

The curriculum focuses on contemporary local artists while incorporating in relevant historic artists. The goal of the class is to encourage students to try a wide array of materials, and explore things even when unsure of themselves. Students leave Art 1 with personal opinions on art materials, artworks, and are able to play and explore their own creativity.
